Kaelyn Steinkraus, Esq.
Attorney Kaelyn Steinkraus focuses her practice on assisting consumers in collection harassment cases. Many people believe that when they are behind on a debt, they have no rights. But both Federal and Florida State laws provide consumers with legal protections against overzealous creditors, which may protect against harassing collection activities such as contacting friends, family or employers about a debt, making aggressive or threatening remarks, misrepresenting information about a debt, unlawful credit reporting, and other unlawful activities.
Kaelyn started with The Law Office of Michael A. Ziegler, P.L. as a law clerk in 2014 after having interned with the Office of the State Attorney in Fort Pierce, a solo firm in her home town, and Bush Ross in Tampa. In her capacity as a law clerk, Kaelyn had the opportunity to research consumer issues in depth, discuss clients’ situations, and learn the practicalities of the law. It was at this point that she knew she’d found her niche- helping everyday people that had been taken advantage of by big-business creditors. In 2016, Kaelyn accepted a position as associate attorney with the Law Office of Michael A. Ziegler, P.L., where she continues to work tirelessly to represent consumers’ rights.
Kaelyn is a Florida native, raised in the small beach town of Vero Beach. She graduated from Vero Beach High School in 2008 and then attended the University of Florida, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree cum laude in 2012 with a major in Psychology and a minor in History. Go Gators! She then obtained her Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law. While at Stetson, Kaelyn was writing chair and advocate on the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot team that competed in Vienna, Austria. The team advanced in oral arguments to the top 32 out of over 300 teams from across the world. Kaelyn was also a Guardian ad Litem in Pinellas County throughout her law school career.
Currently, Kaelyn is a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association Young Lawyer’s Division, the St. Petersburg Bar Association Young Lawyer’s Division, the St. Petersburg Bar Association Solo and Small Firm Division, the Hillsborough Association of Women Lawyers, and the American Bar Association. Kaelyn is admitted to practice law in the State of Florida and the Middle District of Florida.
